The Benefits of Chemical Peels
June 17, 2016 /
As we age naturally, our skin cells do not replace themselves as rapidly, This can result in a dry and dull appearance. At Sona MedSpa, we exclusively offer SkinMedica professional level chemical peels which exfoliate dead skin cells and help reveal fresh, new skin.
By eliminating this dead skin cell build-up with a consistent routine of professional peels, your skin will have a younger, healthier, well-hydrated and more radiant appearance. Safe for all skin types, you will notice improved appearance in days and continual improvement for weeks to come. Not only are SkinMedica Chemical Peels a great solution to restore your skin, but we highly recommend using chemical peels to maintain your results from other services at Sona MedSpa like Pixel and AFT. But why Chemical Peels?
Benefits of Chemical Peels:
- Improves the tone of your skin
- Reduces the signs of aging
- Clears acne and acne scarring
- Stimulates the production of collagen
Professional peel treatments contain anti-bacterial and immune stimulating ingredients which makes it an excellent treatment option for skin prone to acne. Peels help break the oily skin cycle, unclogging pores and preventing future outbreaks. Professional peels also are recommended for improving irregular discoloration, smoothing rough texture, and reducing mild scarring. Our Sona Skin Consultants will customize a solution depending on your skin type and condition.
If I’m Using Chemical Peels to Improve My Skin Tone, How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments recommended will vary depending on the skin condition that is being addressed. A more aggressive approach would be as frequent as every two weeks. Once desired results are achieved, peels can be repeated as part of an ongoing maintenance program.
Do Chemical Peels Require Any Downtime?
Post-treatment, your skin may be pink or slightly red which will subside within a few hours. Over the next several days your skin may feel tight and dry. You may notice some peeling or flaking of the skin. Makeup can be worn, however, a mineral based makeup is recommended. Sun exposure should be limited immediately following treatment.
