5 Things You Wanted to Know About CoolSculpting – But Never Asked
October 14, 2016 /
1. Is CoolSculpting permanent?
Yes. Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), they die and are naturally processed and eliminated from the body. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good. At Sona MedSpa we are committed to ensuring our clients achieve their desired results and that is why we offer The Sona Promise for CoolSculpting.
2. What does it feel like?
As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you may typically feel intense cold. This soon dissipates. With some applicators, you’ll feel some pulling as suction is applied. The area generally goes numb within 5 to 10 minutes during treatment. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their CoolSculpting treatment.
After the treatment, you may feel some tingling as the area is massaged for 2 or 3 minutes. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities immediately following their appointment.
3. Why does it take so long to see results?
Once the treated fat cells die, your body will process those dead cells naturally. You may start to see changes as quickly as 3 weeks after your treatment and will experience the most dramatic results after 2 months. Your body will still continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months after treatment. Check out Hannah’s CoolSculpting Transformation!
4. Will CoolSculpting help me lose weight?
No. The number of fat cells in our bodies typically becomes a fixed number sometime in our teenage years. Losing or gaining weight generally does not increase or decrease the number of fat cells. Instead, it changes the size of fat cells.
5. I hear you treat the banana area – What exactly is that?
The banana roll is a pocket of fat underneath the butt that is in the shape of a banana. Some people say it makes them look like they have a double butt. Check out the two new areas we can treat with CoolSculpting!
